About this product
Two lenses share one housing on this C298 camera. A 2.8mm wide-angle lens takes in the broad scene across a 355° panoramic range, while an 8mm 4MP telephoto lens picks out fine detail, and the camera offers 8X hybrid zoom. Combined, the two 4MP lenses give the 4K 8MP rating in its name.
PTZ or the 4MP PT model?
The C298 4MP Dual-Lens PT WiFi pairs two 2MP lenses on a pan-tilt body. This PTZ version adds the telephoto lens with hybrid zoom and doubles the resolution of each lens, so it is the one to choose for a long driveway, a parking area or a yard where you want to read detail at a distance. The 4MP model has one advantage worth weighing: it accepts a memory card up to 256GB, while this camera tops out at 128GB.
Tracking, alarms and audio
AI detection recognizes people and vehicles and follows them automatically until they leave the frame. On suspicious activity the camera switches on a white light alarm and sends push notifications and emails with screenshots. A built-in speaker and microphone allow two-way conversation, you can record custom voice alerts, from a friendly greeting to a warning, and monitoring zones narrow detection to the areas that matter. At night you choose black and white, full-color or smart night vision, with visibility up to 30m.
Storage and connection
Recordings can go to any of these:
- a memory card up to 128GB (not included)
- a ZOSI NVR
- cloud storage
The camera connects over 2.4GHz WiFi, so check that your router's 2.4GHz band reaches the mounting spot, and ZOSI sells it as a wired WiFi camera, so look at the product details for the cable it needs there. The IP66 housing is made for garages, backyards and parking lots, and the ZOSI Smart app lets you share access with family members. If you would rather run Ethernet to several of these dual-lens cameras with a recorder, see the C298 8CH 4K PoE, 4×8MP Dual-Lens PT, 2TB.
